We take every effort to ensure our content on the Minecraft Marketplace is playable and enjoyable on every platform, however, sometimes performance issues may be outside of our control.
If you are experiencing performance issues (such as a laggy world, rendering issues or "glitchiness") there are some steps you can take to try and resolve this.
If you are experiencing chunk loading issues:
Chunk loading issues are caused by a device not being able to load chunks fast enough. If the world is struggling to load around you you may be facing chunk loading issues.
Possible solution:
Reduce render distance:
When you reduce your render distance it reduces the amount of work Minecraft needs to do each time you move which can improve overall chunk loading speed. Depending on your device reducing render distance to 6 chunks may give you the best performance.
If you are experiencing other issues:
If you are experiencing other performance issues these solutions may help you out.
Reduce or change your video settings:
There are several options in video settings that you can change or lower to improve Minecraft performance. Changing these settings can reduce the load on your device.
- Turn off fancy leaves
- Turn off render clouds
- Turn off beautiful skies
- Turn off smooth lighting
- Turn off fancy graphics
- Turn down particle render distance
Free up device storage:
On certain devices, if storage space is near full Minecraft may struggle to load chunks and have general performance issues. Trying the below may resolve this:
- Clear cache settings within Minecraft
- Delete old worlds
- Uninstall games saved to the device that you no longer play (Nintendo Switch)
We work to keep our content playable by all, but Nintendo Switch, iOS and low-end Android devices may sometimes struggle with our immersive worlds.
