How does fishing work?
As long as you have bait, you can select the fishing rod and tap and hold to cast your line. The longer you hold, the further the line will go. When a fish bites, a little hook icon will appear and you'll hear a sound. Tap once quickly to hook the fish. The fish will fight against your rod, so only tap when the fish is tired. When a fish is tired, it stops moving and falls asleep. This is your chance to tap as much as you can and real it in!
How do I get bait?
You can find clusters of worms on beaches. Tap them to pick them up!
How do I catch bigger fish?
Bigger fish can be caught by using smaller fish as bait. When you have a fish on the line, you can keep it there and use it to lure in nearby larger fish. For some fish, you'll have to "chain fish", hook one fish after another until your desired fish takes the bait!
What do bobbers do?
Bobbers are available to purchase from Captain Blobert's shop. Bobbers allow you to target specific fish in the food chain. There are four types of Bobber: Small, Medium, Large, and an Everything bobber. To equip a Bobber, simply hold it in your active slot and tap on the interact prompt. You are still required to have worms to cast your line even with a Bobber equipped. If a fish escapes your line, they will swallow the bobber and you will lose your currently selected bobber.
How does the aquarium work?
Talk to Hortence at the Aquarium to donate fish. She only requires one of each species and will pay you more than Pelican Pete normally would. Around the Aquarium, you can find information about all species of fish. Once you have caught all fish in a region, Hortence will tell you about a special fish!
How do I get special fish?
First, donate all fish of one region to the Aquarium and Hortence will tell you about that region's fish. There are three regions; the Rifted Reef, Aquatic Jungle and Crystal Melody. Head there, and find the pillar sticking out of the water with runes on it! These runes tell you the chain of fish you must catch (through chain fishing) in order to catch the special fish. You could also try using a Large Bobber!
